Top London chefs plan beach banquet down in Cornwall this summer

No, this beach isn't on the Cote d'Azur as we first thought, it's actually in Cornwall, meaning you can head down here and spend your pounds without worrying about the effects of Brexit. And if that in itself isn't enough to entice you down to the South West how about the lure of a whole bunch of London chefs cooking an amazing beach BBQ?

Top London chefs will be travelling to Cornwall this August to deliver a wood-fired beach banquet, prepared with Cornish produce and cooked right on the sand.

Matt Chatfield of The Cornwall Project has put together a crack squad of chefs from London's most interesting restaurants including:

Shuko Oda - Koya Bar Ben Chapman - Smoking Goat Eryk Bautista - Newman Arms Paul Weaver - Noble Rot (who'll also be arranging the wine pairing) along with Christina The who comes via Canada and the US.

The one off summer holiday banquet takes place on 6 August and will have all the chefs visiting Cornish suppliers on the day to see what's fresh in that morning. They'll then cook up a four course feast on an open wood fire at Carlyon Beach. There'll be live music, beach games for kids and two bars and a fire pit too. Sounds like heaven.

The Carlyon beach banquet is on 6 August at Carlyon Beach, Carlyon Bay, St Austell, Cornwall PL25 3RG. Tickets are £30 for adults and £15 for children with a limited number of matched wine tickets priced at £45 for food and wine. All tickets are available from The Cornwall Project.
