The Last Frontier Alaskan pop-up coming to Pimlico

The Last Frontier Alaskan pop-up coming to PimlicoWe've seen pop-ups of all types in London, but this is definitely the first time we've come across an Alaskan pop-up promising to recreate The Last Frontier in Pimlico.

The one-day event this Saturday will let you sample Alaskan cooking (there's an understandably strong emphasis on fish) as well as offering the chance to learn some Alaskan cooking and curing skills of your own. For this, they've lined up a team of chefs who've worked at Moro, Bocca Di Lupo and St John among others.

During the day there will be live music, panning for gold, treasure hunts the story of The Last Frontier will be told by the men and women of Nome. That's a prospector settlement on the edge of the Bering Sea on Alaska's southern Seward Peninsula and which will be replicated in Pimlico.

In the evening, they'll prepare a meal for 80 which includes (alongside drinks and dancing):

  • Wild Alaska King Crab on Toast
  • Confit Wild Alaska Sockeye Salmon
  • Roast Wild Alaska Halibut
  • Herb Cake served with almond ice cream, blueberries and strawberries.

The Last Frontier is at Pimlico Gardens, Grosvenor Road, London SW1V on June 21. Tickets are £15 for the daytime event and £55 for the evening meal. for more information and tickets, go to their website.
