A new venture is coming to the King's Road later this year as the people behind the recently opened Crystal Palace Market get ready to open their next restaurant, the World's End Market. The all-day restaurant and underground bar will be taking over the space which was once the World's End Pub - and they're looking to design it in a way that makes the most of its heritage.

The main focus is going to be on locally sourced "market fresh" produce with a regularly changing menu to reflect the seasonality of the food. This will have starters that “could include” (as this all depends on availability) hand dived scallop carpaccio, ceviche of seabass or vegetarian dishes such as white asparagus, shitake mushrooms and poached egg and parmesan. There will also be an option to choose fish or meat as the basis for your main course. There will be ten freshly caught fish on the menu, including Brixham cuttlefish or plaice, Scottish langoustine and monkfish, skate wings from Bidford Bay and whole wild sea bass from Anglesey. Steaks are also available – and once either fish or meat is chosen it’ll be seared or grilled according to taste and served with French fries and a house salad.

Running alongside this, there will also be an all-day menu from 10am to 5pm. That'll have plenty of brunch options including Eggs Benedict, Royale or Florentine or Traditional English Breakfast with all the trimmings. It will also include their burger served either “classic” or “hot” (caramelised onion, shallots, hot chilli paste and home-made mayonnaise) as well as a truffle burger or a crayfish roll. Plus there’s a veggie burger - portobello and shitake mushrooms caramelised onions topped with halloumi cheese.

The main floor restaurant will seat 70 and be decked out like a 30s canteen, while the first floor bar and terrace will seat a further 30, along with a screen showing British Classics (Get Carter, Quadrophenia etc). Under the restaurant, they're building a cocktail bar that seats 80 with a design that will reflect the history of the building with reference to Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood's Let it Rock which was in the building before the Worlds End took it over.

World's End Market will open at 495 King’s Road London SW10 on 4 December 2014. They'll be running a soft launch offer of 50% off the a la carte menu until 7th December 2014. Opening hours will be Monday to Sunday 10am till 11.00pm. The bar will be open until 1.00am. For more information, follow them on Twitter @459WEMarket.
