Randy's Wing Bar brings wings aplenty to Hackney's Here East

Randy's Wing Bar

We've already told you about the big new developments at The old Olympic park, which is becoming a new food and drink hub Here East. And now we've got more news about what is bound to be one of the bigger attractions, the first permanent Randy's Wing Bar.

You may have seen them at Dalston Yard and Night Tales and here you can get their usual wings and a lot more. On the menu are five types of, frankly lovely sounding, wings (at 8 for £7.50) including:

  • North American Buffalo (fried and tossed in a spicy Buffalo sauce with truffle blue cheese)
  • Bombay (marinated in Indian spices, oven baked, robata grilled and served with raita)
  • Hanoi Tuk Tuk (lightly battered, fried, tossed in a tangy Vietnamese fish sauce, served with crispy garlic and fresh coriander).

And they'll also have chicken burgers including The Original (buffalo sauce, blue cheese and lime aioli) , The Bulgogi (Gangnam sauce and Thai dressing) and The Argy Bhaji (for vegetarians with an onion and chilli bhaji. cumin and lime Southwest mayo.

For sides, expect "Chicken Liver Popcorn with cumin and lime Southwest mayo", "Furious Fries with feta and Buffalo sauce", "Chicken Scratching’s with smoked sea salt" and a Sumac summer salad. And to finish things off (probably literally) there's the Guilty Pleasure for pudding and that's chocolate brownie, gingerbread ice-cream, salted caramel sauce and finished with crumbled ginger biscuit. So yes, it's not a diet option.

Alongside all that, craft beers and a short wine list plus cocktails including the including the Royalty (Chase rhubarb vodka, pink grapefruit, lemon and absinthe). The restaurant will seat 70, with sharing tables and banquettes the order of the day.

Randy's Wing Bar opens on 21 May at Canal Side Here East, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E15 2GW. For more, follow them on Twitter @randyswingbar.
