Piebury Corner is opening a pie deli in King's Cross

17/5/17 - updated with exclusive soft launch news.

What: Piebury Corner King's Cross

In a nutshell: Top notch pie and mash in King's Cross.

Summing it all up: Famed pie sellers Piebury Corner are opening a new pie shop and deli to serve up some of the best pies in town, alongside mash and roast potatoes and all washed down with craft beer. It's a much bigger spot than the original too.

The low-down

We bring you great news. Piemasters Piebury Corner are getting ready to open a new pie shop and deli - this time in King's Cross. We've been huge fans of their pies for a while now so take it from us that this is a very good thing.

They're setting up shop on the end of Caledonian Road (across from The Scottish Stores) and are bringing the full Piebury Corner experience with them. That means you can both grab a pie to go or sit down and have it right there with a pint.  All of their 15 pies will be making the journey with them - including this small sample:

  • Jerk Chicken marinated in Porter
  • Chicken Balti
  • Ox Cheek & Venison
  • Pork, Apple & Stuffing
  • Lentil, Sweet Potato, Thai Curry Paste
  • Potato, Cheese, Garlic & Onion

Alas, the pies won't be retaining their Arsenal nicknames that you'll find at the Holloway Road original spot. But they do have an aim to sell a great gluten-free pie in the future too. Alongside all those pies, you can add mash, roast potatoes, crushed peas and - of course - gravy. And wash them down with a variety of craft beer - including a lager and pale ale that they'll have on tap.

Piebury Corner's new place will be keeping the Victorian tiled look of the original shop in King's Cross - with hints towards the building's former life (many moons ago) as the King's Cross Post Office. It's much bigger than the Holloway Road original - with booths and banquette seating - so expect this to be a big fave of King's Cross locals (as well as all those commuters).

As we spend a lot of time near King's Cross, we're VERY happy with all of this as the area around the station becomes a continually better place to eat. As Piebury Corner's Paul and Nicky Campbell say "we're very proud to be part of the King's Cross revolution".

Update - we've popped into the new deli in King's Cross since this original article and the place looks fab. Look out for little details like posters from the Scala across the road and leep an eye on the floor for sopme special touches from the surrounding area. A lot of love has been put into this place and we think it looks great.
