Brixton looks to be getting an interesting new cocktail bar next month with the opening of The Shrub & Shutter on Coldharbour Lane. The folk behind it are Chris Edwards and Dave Tregenza who have worked at the Adam St private members club, the Baltic, Northbank restaurant and drake & Morgan.
"The drinks programme will be modern, innovative and interactive," Chris told Hot Dinners, "with fresh cocktails as well classics using local, seasonal & homegrown ingredients."
As for food, they've brought in chef Yann Baril formely of the Hilton Park Lane & drake & morgan who'll be coming up with a weekly changing menu of seasonal snacks such as terrines, tartares & carpaccios designed to match with the drinks.
The space itself consists of two rooms - at the front there's high level seating and the bar, and a back room for larger tables & music. There's also going to be a small smoking/BBQ area at the back.
The Shrub & Shutter will open at 336 Cold Harbour Lane, Brixton, London SW9 8QH in late August 2014. Opening hours will be Tuesday to Friday in the evening till late, all day Saturday till late and Sunday until the late evening. Keep up with their news on Twitter @shrubshutter336
