As the clock goes back and the balmy days of summer seem like a distant memory, or even a false one, it's only natural to wish yourself a thousands miles away from gloomy London.
So Hot Dinners are pea-green with envy to learn that Mark Hix is heading to America's west coast to open up a pop-up restaurant with jeweller Stephen Webster (pictured right) in Beverly Hills. ‘We’re calling it Hixters,' Mark told The Daily Mail. 'Mostly it’ll serve a mix of British food.'
It's not the first collaboration between ritzy jeweller Webster and Hix. Webster is a long-time pal of the chef and one of the key investors in his Soho restaurant, which is why you'll find 'Webster's Fish Fingers' with mushy peas on the menu there.
[3/11/10 Oops - our mistake. Apparently there isn't going to be a Hixters. According to a spokesperson for Mark Hix the story is 'totally untrue – Mark might have said it but it's not the case'. That'll teach us for believing the Daily Mail and not checking our sources first!]
