Mark Hix launches Titanic centenary menu at his Selfridges restaurant
So far it sounds interesting, but Hix's comment on the idea may be a little frivolous for some diners' tastes: "What could be more fun than offering customers the opportunity to try a few of the dishes from the original First Class Tasting menu?" he asks. Maybe he'd have been better calling it 'interesting' rather than 'fun' and we're pretty certain that one of his desserts - The Iceberg - wasn't on that original menu. If you're of a mind to try it - the menu, which is £19.50 for two courses and £24.50 for three is as follows: Four Lindisfarne rock oysters Poached Loch Duart salmon with mousseline sauce and stonecrop Waldorf Pudding with cider brandy ice-cream The Titanic Centenary menu will be served at Hix Selfridges from 10th to 29th April 2012. |
