Malmaison London relaunches with new restaurant Strip Bar & Steak

Malmaison London relaunches with new restaurant Strip Bar & Steak The London Malmaison in Farringdon is currently getting a bit of a refurb and along with that, a new steak restaurant too.

The new basement restaurant will be the lurid-sounding Strip Bar & Steak - its name referring to the New York strip steak that it'll specialise in, with USDA Black Angus Prime grade beef, cut to order from 250g up to 550g and priced from £20 - £45.

In addition to this, starters include tuna tartar (£12), steak carpaccio (£10) and alongside prawn, shrimp and lobster cocktails, there's a sampler of all three for £15. "Specials" include stripsteak stroganoff (£20), porcini risotto (£15) or lobster curry (£35). Sides include strip baked truffle mash (baked skins filled with truffle mash & cheddar for £5) mac & cheese + lobster (£5/£15). And finally, for dessert, there are shaken drunken sundaes (strawberry, banana, pineapple or cherries for £8) or pineapple carpaccio (coconut sorbet and a fresh chili lime dressing for £8).

Look-wise, they're looking to "combine urban style with a touch of Las Vegas, featuring exposed brick walls, dark wooden tables and floors and plush leather seating". So there will be plenty of neon throughout. There's a brand new all day dining lounge bar on the ground floor too, which will serve popular dishes such as the Mal Burger and Steak Frites.

Malmaison London relaunches in November at 18-21 Charterhouse Square, London, EC1M 6AH. For more information, follow them on Twitter.
