M Restaurants from former Gaucho MD to launch on Threadneedle Street

mrestaurant-main

City workers have what sounds like a seriously swanky restaurant heading there way in the form of M on Threadneedle Street. Here's what you need to know about it.

What you need to know about M-GRILL, M-RAW and M-BAR

It's a restaurant of two parts - M RAW is the casual side of things serving breakfast and sharing plates. Think sashimi, salad, oysters and ceviche. Then there's M GRILL, which says it's going to serve up the ‘best steak cuts from across the world’. Both restaurants will seat 90 and there'll also be room for private dining and wine tasting.

It won't be cheap - steaks will run from £25 to an eyewatering £139.

But the chap in charge should know his meat - Founder Martin Williams was Managing Director of Gaucho Restaurants for nine years. He's brought in Michael Reid, former Executive Chef of Gaucho Restaurants as Exec Chef here. The City restaurants are a testing ground before they roll out to more places - they're currently looking at two more sites in London.

There'll be a bar, of course - the cocktail bar M BAR was designed by Lance Perkins, who's currently wowing folk as Bars and Beverage Director of the Edition Hotel.

M will open in November 2014 at 60 Threadneedle St, London EC2R 8HP (where La Bourse used to be) with booking lines expected to open in late September. Keep up with their news on Twitter @thereisonem
