KERB announces its first permanent venue in Camden, KERB Counter

What: KERB Counter

In a nutshell: Booze, residencies and events.

Summing it all up: KERB tries something new with their first Counter, a place where they’ll be mixing cocktails paired to your street food, serving snacks, throwing events and hosting regular vendor takeovers.

The low-down

Street food market kings KERB have been leading the charge with their events for ages, from their all vegan one-off celebration, or coercing some of London’s top restaurants into creating mash-up dishes for especially for their fifth birthday.

Now they’re turning yet another corner with their first permanent bricks and mortar spot in Camden, right next to their sizeable canalside pitch.

“Counter will be our ‘testing ground’,” said KERB. “A chance for us to grow the opportunities we bring to our traders and customers through beer pairings, supper clubs and smaller private events.”

The first takeover will be handled by sibling-run pizzeria Fundi, who’ll be whipping up a six pizza special menu at the KERB Counter, and pairing it with drinks like Venetian punch and Sour Italians.

There'll be plenty of drink pairing going on outside of the vendor takeovers too, with beers, wines and cocktails to help you wash down your street food, including Gipsy Hill Beatnick and Redhook Longhammer IPA on tap. There’ll also be Good & Proper Tea, Assembly Coffee and Square Root sodas providing non-alcoholic refreshment.

Plus, if you’re in the mildly unfortunate situation of having just bought yourself a tasty meal from one of KERB’s 34 Camden traders, but can’t find a single place to sit, you’ll be welcome to bring it inside.

To celebrate the launch, the market will be staying late on most Thursdays throughout December to dish up special Christmas-themed dishes (jerk turkey nuggets, truffle brie fettuccine alfredo, etc) which will have a matching festive cocktail on offer in Counter. All of which sounds like an excellent to warm your cockles if you’ve been braving Camden's late night shopping scrum...
