News of the World caught a scoop from Gordon Ramsay today [5 December 2010] - the chef is working on the opening of another new restaurant in London. The Union Street Cafe will be on two floors in Harling House on the intersection of Union Street and Great Suffolk Street in Southwark.
According to the NOTW, the site in question cost Ramsay £235,000 for a 35-year-lease and is, according to the paper 'the first place bought open and run without any involvement from Chris [Hutcheson]. Gordon wants to prove he can run the operation and cut the deals as well as being a celebrity chef.'
Gordon Ramsay Holdings confirmed to Hot Dinners that the opening was scheduled for late 2011.
The paper also suggests Ramsay is working on a major new opening in America. 'It's really hush hush and it will be big' they quote an 'insider' as saying.
