Ex Cinnamon Club chef launches Darbaar in the City

Ex Cinnamon Club chef launches Darbaar in the City

There's a new high-end Indian restaurant on the way to the City, coming from Abdul Yaseen, a chef who has worked over a decade at Cinnamon Club and Cinnamon Kitchen.

It's a banqueting experience, inspired by the Indian Royal Court. They'll include Nawabi Slow Roasted Leg of Lamb, Keralan Shrimp Cocktail and Kid Goat Biryani and 'The Royal Pot' which is also known as Shahi Degh. That's be served in an earthenware pot and inspired by feasting dishes served at the courts of the Maharajas. The dishes will change seasonally with spiced guinea fowl in the winter to lamb in the spring.

They'll also have a range of wood fired Naanzas, a type of naan bread combining European and sub-continent flavours.

It will be very, very big. The restaurant covers 5,500 square feet, with a 220-cover restaurant and bar, counter seting by the gril', a 20 seat private dining room and a chef's table for up to 10 people.

And the bar will have a list of spice-infused cocktails. And a few smaller sharing dishes to go alongside.

Darbaar opens 4 November at 1 Snowden Street, Broadgate West, London, EC2A 2DQ. There's a soft launch with 50% off food from 4-6 November. For more, follow them on Twitter @DarbaarbyAbdul
