Summing it all up: Soho's iconic restaurant Bob Bob Ricard is opening a second place on the third floor of the Cheesegrater and they've got a top chef to head up the operation


The low-down

Well this really IS good news. Ever since he closed Brasserie Chavot and moved out of London to run the kitchens at Nonsuch Park, London has been missing the talents of the wonderful Eric Chavot.

But not for too much longer. The official announcement has just been made that Chavot will be back in town next year as the Executive Head Chef at Bob Bob Cité - the new offshoot of Bob Bob Ricard which will open on level three of the Leadenhall Building, aka the Cheesegrater, in January.

The decision's delighted BBR founder Leonid Shutov who says of his new hire; "He is without doubt one of the true giants, not just in London but internationally, and I am hugely excited about us working together.”

The decision's mutual it seems and for Chavot, his imminent move to the City reads like something out of a romantic novel. "From the first time I met Leonid it felt like a marriage made in heaven," says Chavot "One needs to be in the right place at the right time and it's happened for me...I wake up in the morning with goosebumps and a silly smile on my face."
