Dip & Flip brings burgers, poutines and french dips to Battersea Rise

Dip & Flip brings burgers, poutines and french dips to Battersea RiseOpening from today in Battersea Rise is a new restaurant specialising in one of our favourite foods - the French Dip, a meat sandwich that you dip in gravy. Dip and Flip features a number of things that should have Londoners crossing town for, with the menu including...

  • Beef or lamb sandwich: thinly sliced roast meat, dipped in hot gravy and stuffed in a warm roll, served with dipping gravy and horseradish cream or mint sauce. The menu sounds almost obscene - promising sarnies dry, dipped, double dipped or soaking wet.
  • Poutine: fries layered with squeaky cows-milk curds and gravy.
  • Patty Melt: a smashed fresh minced beef pattie, made into a hot sandwich with rye bread, grilled with butter and cheese
  • Chicken sandwich: a supreme of seasoned pan fried chicken in a sweet bun with pickle-juice slaw.

Plus you can expect various burgers (including the Dip and Flip burger - a cheeseburger with dipped roast beef on top), onion rings, salad (if you must) and, of course, extra gravy for dipping (which is made on site using stock produced from beef and veal bones). There are also sausage/bacon egg muffins for brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Drinks on the menu include pale ale from the very nearby Sambrook's Brewery, bottled beers and with a cocktail list to come soon.

Dip and Flip is now open at 87 Battersea Rise, London SW11 1HW. Find out more by following them on Twitter.
