Updated 19/2/17 with soft launch details.

When it comes to pairings, there’s little that can beat cocktails combined with a glam London skyline view. Now, those who’re after a spot of wining and dining with a slightly more luxurious edge will now be able to indulge from a whopping 39 stories up thanks to Bōkan.

Bōkan, which is old Saxon for ‘lighthouse’, will be providing those after a taste of the high life with dinner, drinks and dancing across three storeys in Canary Wharf. The restaurant will be found on the 37th floor at the Novotel in Canary Wharf, where you’ll be able to order from a menu that bills itself as modern European with a British twist, courtesy of Aurelie Altemaire, former head chef of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon. There’ll be British charcuterie and cheeses for nibbles, while mains will include line-caught cod, lamb shank and a Highland venison pie, an indulgent rooftop warmer perfect now we’re firmly in the grips of autumn.

If you’re after a stiff drink, head up to the 38th floor where there’ll be a luxury bar stocked with wine, craft beers and cocktails made with boutique spirits from small batch distilleries. While you’re enjoying your tipple, you’ll also be able to sample some of their ‘experimental’ bar snacks, including oatmeal-dusted chilli squid, or Scotch eggs with beetroot relish.

Those who make the trek on Sundays will be rewarded with not only glorious views over the Isle of Dogs, but a boozy bottomless brunch with sharing plates and cocktails. Slink out onto the DJ mezzanine on the 39th floor for a brisk, fresh air view, and point out London’s landmarks while wrapped safely in one of Bōkan’s cozy blankets.

Bōkan opens 1 March 2017 at 37-39 Floor, Novotel Canary Wharf, E14 9TP. There's a soft launch until 14 March with 50% off food - to book email hello@bokanlondon.co.uk or call 0203 530 0550. Quote ‘Bokan soft launch’ when booking. Follow Bōkan on Twitter at @BokanLondon
