Cherry blossom pop-up bar to open at Sake No Hana

8/8 - The pop-up has now launched and we've updated the article with a gallery of pics.

Sadly we've never scraped together enough money for a trip to Japan to check out the Spring blossoms. On the bright side though the Hakkasan Group have done the next best thing and brought it to London. From 7th April to 19th May they'll be festooning Sake No Hana with cherry blossoms as part of a pop-up bar.

S…

Goodman to open Beast king crab and steak restaurant in Marylebone

It wasn't so long ago that the folk behind Goodman came up with a cunning wheeze to sell burger and lobster for the fixed price of £20 in Mayfair. "It'll never work!" laughed the naysayers who have firmly been made to eat their words along with the tons of fresh lobster that Burger & Lobster now shifts every week to the likes of Nicholas Sarkozy (who was in just last week).

Now the same people…

Trying out the 3D chocolate printer at Harvey Nichols

When Harvey Nichols got in touch with Hot Dinners offering to make a 3D chocolate model of one of us, it wasn't a case of whether we'd be interested, rather how quickly we could hotfoot it to Knightsbridge to put things in motion. The service is currently on offer up on the Fifth Floor courtesy of 3D printers iMakr Store.

What's required of the person being cast is literally 10 seconds in a booth…

The family behind the award-winning Walthamstow Spar, neighbouring Eat 17 bistro and cult condiment ‘Eat 17 Bacon Jam’ have designs, it seems, on the rest of London. They'll be launching a restaurant, burger bar and convenience store in a the former Brooksbys Snooker Hall on Chatsworth Road in Lower Clapton later this month.

Ben Tish to host first Rotisserie Takeover at LeCoq

We rather love the fact that Islington's LeCoq aren't content to sit on their laurels. Which is why, despite their usual rotisserie fare being so popular they're taking it off the menu entirely for a series of Monday night events. "We've invited a load of our favourite chefs to take over our beloved rotisserie for a night and cook whatever the hell they want," is how they explain it.

The Rotisseri…

James Lowe to open Lyle's restaurant in Shoreditch

7/8 Updated with opening date and menu details.

James Lowe is a chef we've been following ever since a first, hugely impressive dinner back in the mists of time at the Loft Project when he was one third of the ground-breaking trio The Young Turks along with Isaac McHale (Clove Club) and Ben Greeno (Momofuku Seiobo). Since then he's had success at Upstairs at... and now at…

Mark Hix brings Hixter Chicken and Steak to Bankside

Mark Hix's original chicken and steak venture Tramshed has been a big hit in Shoreditch, since spawning a City successor, Hixter. Now he's continuing to roll that out with a new Hixter coming to Bankside, round the corner from Tate Modern, this Summer (and with more Hixters waiting in the wings).

Once again, it's a huge space (7000 sq ft) and, like the cow at Tramshed, the main room will be d…

Primeur to open on the borders of Islington and Stoke Newington

It's impossible to keep news of a new restaurant quiet - particularly when it's in an area that up to now hasn't had many decent places to eat out. Sandwiched between Stoke Newington and Highbury Petherton road (just north of St Paul's Road) has been a bit of a gastronomic desert. Until the arrival of Primeur.

It's the brainchild of two very well connected restaurant folk, David Gingell and Jeremi…

Rotorino restaurant and wine bar by Stevie Parle opening on Kingsland Road in Dalston

Stevie Parle's new restaurant Rotorino (which opens on 10 April) has been heralded as somewhere to challenge the perception of Dalston as a place where cocktails are only to be served out of jam jars and all the food must be of the dude variety. The Evening Standard went so far as to call it the River Cafe of East London.

Well, Hot Dinners has got their hands on the menu and full details of P…
