An independent restaurant, set up by two brothers, this has more individuality than the chains, and is highly recommended to anyone looking for a good steak south of the river.
The Meat and Wine Company

Unit 1026, Westfield London, Ariel Way, LONDON W12 7GA
Critic reviews - total score 4 out of 10
This is the UK flagship restaurant for the South-African based chain. It does what it says on the tin and specialises in meat with the odd unusual choice such as Springbok or Kangaroo included on the menu. Wines are also a strongpoint.
Goodman
Mayfair, Belgravia
26 Maddox Street, London W1S 1HQ
Critic reviews - total score 6.5 out of 10
It's strange, given the British fondness of meat and two veg, that London should be a city so bereft of more than a handful of places you can depend on to get a really excellent steak. Unfortunately, despite its promise to serve diners the most 'full-flavoured, tender steak in London' Goodman doesn't seem to be the place that will sate our bloodlust.
Hawksmoor Spitalfields
The City

Critic reviews - total score 8 out of 10
The original Hawksmoor, and for many the best. Known as the group that transformed steaks in British restaurants forever for the better, this is a perfect place to come to for a meat-fest. And expect some cracking cocktails too - head to the bar downstairs for those and extra snacks not on the main menu.
