Meatballs restaurant opens at Farringdon's Quality Chop House

Meatballs restaurant opens at Farringdon's Quality Chop House Hot Dinners were fans of the marvellously old-fashioned Quality Chop House on Farringdon Road with its frontage proudly declaring 'Progressive Working Class Caterers' and retro British food so we were a little sad when it shut down last summer.

However, sometimes change can be a good thing and certainly the restaurant that's now in situ, Meatballs, looks like it could be a lot of fun. It's being run by Hugh Fowler - the man who launched Cafe Pasta and now runs CG restaurants chain which includes Hamburger Union and Fire and Stone.

The menu, as you'd imagine, feautures meatballs in all guises from the traditional serving with tomato sauce to the latest craze - sliders - served up in mini buttered buns.

You'll get three meatballs per portion for £3.95 with a lottery-style bonus ball for £1 each.

Meatballs opens today and will be open for business Monday-Saturday 11.30am to 11.30pm and Sunday 12-10pm at 94 Farringdon Road, EC1. You can find out more from their website.
